5 Themes of Geography

Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography help people better understand connections between people and the earth because the themes explains how people and the environment work together for their benefits. Using the themes to help identify places, and features they place provides. The themes benefit people because it tells theme locations, places, and other ways the people use the environment for their benefit. One of the themes is very important to everyone because movement is about how people share ideas. Without ideas from other people we would have small variety of ideas, because most ideas would be coming from the same group of people.

The themes that is most difficult to understand for me is Region. Region is the most confusing because I’m not exactly sure what it is about, or how it is applied it to a map. I know that there are different regions in different places, but it's not clear to me how to identify a region or how to use a region in map.

Map skills reflection

What I found easy about map skills is creating the key. For me coming up with states, capitals, and mountain ranges is easy. Also creating the names for each state and capital was easy. That part to me is very fun.

What I struggle with the most is longitude and latitude. Scale also can puzzle me at times. Longitude and Latitude are confusings to me because I get north and south mixed up. I struggle with scale because they are all different.

Basic map skills are important because if you were every lost and you only had a paper map then you would be able to find your way back. Map skills help me better understand geography because it tells me about continents, states and other landforms, and without them I wouldn't know about other parts of the world.
